Sloboda Juniors Win BiH Cup

(Patria) - In the final match of the Youth Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the season 2023/24, the juniors of Tuzla's Sloboda defeated Sarajevo 3-2 after penalties today at the NS/FS BiH Training Centre in Zenica.

The first half was characterized by open play from both sides, but without significant scoring opportunities. The second half brought no changes, and the nets remained empty until the end of the match, leading to a penalty shootout.

Sloboda's juniors performed better and won with a score of 3-2.

Ajdin Beganović, Petar Đukanović, and Ensar Mešić scored for Tuzla from the penalty spot, while Jakub Vilakić was unsuccessful.

For Sarajevo, Nidal Čelik and Seid Pramenković were accurate, while Harun Pločo and Sergej Ignatkov failed to beat goalkeeper Muhamed Smajić.

Sloboda thus secured the trophy after defeating all their opponents in penalty shootouts: Široki Brijeg in the quarterfinals, Borac in the semifinals, and Sarajevo today.

After the match, the trophy and medals were presented to the players by General Secretary Adnan Džemidžić and Vice-President of the Competition Committee Dušan Marković.
