Joel Embiid signs one of the biggest contracts in history

(Patria) - Philadelphia 76ers player Joel Embiid has signed a three-year contract extension with the 76ers worth $193 million.

Embiid will remain with the 76ers until the end of the 2028/2029 season, and in those three years, he will earn $193 million.

This means the total value of his five-year contract with Philadelphia amounts to $301 million, which is among the top three largest contracts in NBA history.

Embiid (30) won the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 2023 and finished second in MVP voting twice (2021, 2022), both times behind Nikola Jokic.

Embiid, who won gold with the US national team at the Olympic Games in Paris, has been named to the NBA All-Star team seven times.
