Champions League play-off pairs drawn

The European Football Federation UEFA today determined the pairs for the Champions League play-offs, a stage of the competition where teams placed between 9th and 24th after the league phase will compete for a spot in the round of 16.

Bosnia and Herzegovina will have two representatives in this part of the elite European competition. Sead Kolašinac plays for Atalanta, while Amar Dedić will represent Benfica, and both face extremely demanding two-legged ties.

The draw has brought a series of attractive clashes, including the matches between Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta, Benfica and Real Madrid, as well as the duel between French rivals Monaco and PSG.

In the play-offs, Olympiacos will also meet Bayer Leverkusen, Galatasaray will face Juventus, Qarabag will play Newcastle, and Bodo/Glimt will compete against Inter.

The winners of these two-legged ties will secure a place among the top 16 teams in Europe. The first play-off matches are scheduled for February 17th and 18th, with the return legs scheduled seven days later.

Eight of the most successful teams from the league phase had previously secured direct qualification for the round of 16, namely Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Sporting, and Tottenham.
