(Patria) - After Borac of Banja Luka was eliminated from further European competitions today, the same fate befell FK Željezničar of Sarajevo tonight.
FK Željezničar, known as the "Blues", could not reach the second round of the Conference League, being stopped by Slovenia's Koper in the first round.
Seven days ago, the match at Grbavica ended 1:1, but Koper won 3:1 at home tonight, advancing with a total score of 4:2. In the second round, they will face Norway's Viking Stavanger.
FK Željezničar threatened as early as the seventh minute. Šošić passed to Cvetanoski, who shot wide.
This was followed by a period of nervous and disjointed play from both sides, and the "Blues" took the lead in the 26th minute, writes Faktor.
Šošić earned a penalty, which Krpić converted into a goal, much to the delight of the visiting team's fans.
In the 36th minute, Koper had their best chance. After a set-piece, the ball reached Matonda, who shot well, but Muftić was in the right place and saved his attempt.
Then, the team from Grbavica "disappeared" for nine minutes. Essentially, the "Blues" conceded everything in the stoppage time of the first half.
The hosts equalized in the 44th minute. Iličić provided a masterful assist, and Mijajlović scored to make it 1:1. Pejić failed to track the Slovenian team's winger.
Two minutes later, another shock for the "Blues". Mijajlović made an unselfish assist, and Manseri scored to take the lead.
And that wasn't the end of FK Željezničar's troubles. Iličić earned a corner after a free-kick, and from the ensuing set-piece, Longonda scored in the eighth minute of added time to make it 3:1.
In the second half, FK Željezničar threatened first. Alić shot wide from a free-kick, and shortly after, Boljević was selfish. He shot from an angle on the left, and his attempt was saved by Jurhar.
In the 61st minute, the "Blues" executed a nice play, which Šošić tried to convert into a goal. However, goalkeeper Jurhar made a superb save to deny his team. In the follow-up, the home defense blocked Boljević's shot.
Three minutes later, we witnessed an incredible miss by Boljević. Jaganjac won the ball in the hosts' penalty area, and Boljević, from a few meters out, hit the crossbar.
The visitors were quite lucky in the 70th minute. Muftić saved Omladič's shot, and in the follow-up, Manseri shot over the goal.
Until the end of the match, Koper successfully kept a clean sheet, securing their passage to the second round.
