Historic medal for BiH at the European Championship in Tallinn: Zakira Pušina is the European vice-champion

(Patria) - Great news is coming from Tallinn from the European Cadet Championship. National team member and member of the Shooting Club "Sarajevo" Zakira Pušina became the European vice-champion and won a silver medal in the U16 women's air rifle discipline, which is the first European medal for our country since independence.



With excellent shooting, this fifteen-year-old competitor also set a new national record of 413.5 points. The fact that Zakira missed the gold medal and the European record by only 0.3 decimals, and that our flag was proudly raised on the highest mast, speaks volumes about what a great performance, a fight to the last shot, and a top result this was.

Our other competitor at the European Championship in Tallinn, Amir Memišević, also a member of SK Sarajevo, had an excellent performance, winning a great eighth place in the same discipline, setting a new national record of 410.4 points. Emir Memišević provided expert supervision for our competitors.

Considering that these are young competitors, born in 2009 and practically debutants at major competitions, we are more than satisfied with the achieved results. We hope that after these results, support for our club, a decades-long breeding ground for young and high-quality competitors, will finally be more significant and that we will finally have sponsor support.
