(Patria) - Željezničar player Amer Hiroš has apologized to all Željezničar fans after receiving a direct red card at the start of the Sarajevo derby.
Spectators in the duel between Željezničar and Sarajevo saw three red cards in a very short period. The first of them was received by Amer Hiroš for hitting Edin Julardžija.
Julardžija pulled Hiroš with both hands, thus preventing a dangerous attack by Željezničar, and the home team's player instinctively hit his rival in the face and deservedly received a red card.
Hiroš has now addressed the fans with a message to all Željezničar fans and apologized. He stated that he did not intend to hit his opponent in the face, but that he accepts responsibility and consequences.
"I want to apologize to my teammates and all the fans for my careless move. I am a child of Željo and the city derby means a lot to me, many of my friends are in the stands and I was highly motivated, just like in the previous derby. I did not intend to hit the player in the face, but I take responsibility and accept the consequences. I ask the fans for unity, to support the team and to achieve our current goal," said Amer Hiroš on the official website of FK Željezničar.
