Hastor achieved an excellent result at the 50th Berlin Marathon, 177th place out of 58,212 participants

(Patria) - The best Bosnian-Herzegovinian marathon runner Emir Hastor achieved an excellent result at the 50th Berlin Marathon held yesterday in the capital of Germany.

Hastor crossed the finish line in two hours, 27 minutes, and 14 seconds, placing 177th out of 58,212 runners who started this major event.

"Something unreal. Honestly, I came to run the race in two hours and 30 minutes, and in the end, I improved my personal best by more than six minutes. To be at the start with the best marathon runners among 58,212 runners and finish 177th is a great result for me, my club, my city, and BiH," said Hastor.

He is immensely grateful to everyone who supported him.

"I felt phenomenal throughout the entire race and I don't think I've fully realized what I've done yet. None of this would have been possible without my family, coach Zaim Šuman, my entire team, and of course, friends and sponsors who support me," Hastor stated from Berlin.

In the men's competition, Hastor's time placed him 161st, which is the best BiH result in the men's category of this discipline in the last ten years.

Alongside Hastor, another member of AK Goražde, Anes Popović, competed in Berlin for the first time, finishing the marathon in 3:20:54.
