Bralić's goal breaks Borac's streak at Koševo, Sarajevo moves closer to the top of the table

(Patria) - Football Club Sarajevo defeated the team from Banja Luka's Borac tonight at the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium in one of the two derbies of the 14th round of the BiH Premier League. The other one is tomorrow in Mostar at 3:15 PM between Zrinjski and Željezničar.

But let's get back to tonight's match, where the home team celebrated with a minimal 1:0 victory, thus ending Borac's streak of three consecutive Premier League wins against Sarajevo (5:1, 2:0, 2:0).

It should also be noted that with tonight's triumph, Sarajevo ended a long streak of poor results at home against Borac, which in all competitions (Cup and BiH Premier League) has lasted since October 8, 2022. At that time, Sarajevo won 1:0 in the Premier League.

Since then, the results of matches between Sarajevo and Borac at Koševo have been as follows: 1:1, 1:2, 1:1, 0:2, and 0:1.

The match at the largest BiH stadium was quite watchable with a high tempo, expected tension, and perfectly fair refereeing by Haris Halkić. The overall impression is a high rating for everything seen, writes Faktor.

The opening minutes of the match already brought chances. Hrelja did not manage to score in front of Sarajevo's goal, while Jurkas miraculously saved Ristovski's close-range shot.

The home team then started to show more, taking the initiative. As a reward, a goal came. After a cross, Bralić scored.

In the closing minutes of the first half, Borac had a series of serious situations in front of Sarajevo's goal. Hrelja and Savić threatened twice, but Banić managed to stop them.

The second half began with Borac's attacks, but there were no clear chances. Sarajevo also threatened on counter-attacks.

After that, referee Halkić had to stop the match twice due to flares. When the game resumed, the Banja Luka team sought an equalizer.

However, the home team showed maturity and skillfully preserved their lead for a final score of 1:0 and their third consecutive victory.

On the other hand, Borac lost another away derby. After defeats at Grbavica (3:2) and under Bijeli Brijeg (2:1), the Banja Luka team also lost at the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium.
