Adem Ljajić's goal secures victory for Sarajevo against Rudar Prijedor

(Patria) - Sarajevo defeated Rudar Prijedor 1-0 in the 6th round of the Wwin league at Košev. Adem Ljajić was the hero of the victory for the Maroon team.

FK Sarajevo achieved their second victory of the season after a tough match. Rudar proved to be a very tough opponent once again, but the visitors from Prijedor could not secure more points at Bosnia's largest stadium.

Sarajevo dominated the first half, being the much better side, but the ball simply wouldn't find the net in the first 45 minutes.

The hosts missed their first serious chance in the eighth minute. Beganović crossed from the right, Mlinarić shot from five meters, but Dubljanić saved.

Seven minutes later, Guliashvili was in a good position. Molls deflected his shot into a corner at the last moment.

Husref Musemić's players shot from all positions. In the 21st minute, Đorđević fired from 25 meters, and the ball went just wide of the post.

Chances kept coming for Rudar's goal, but the finishing touch was missing. After half an hour, the guests were left without their captain Pekija, who injured his hamstring in a duel with Mlinarić.

Another great chance for the hosts came in the 31st minute. Guliashvili fought for position on the left side, entered the penalty area and shot, but goalkeeper Dubljanić was brilliant again.

Perhaps Sarajevo's best chance came in first-half stoppage time. Kuprešak crossed brilliantly from the left, Krdžalić was on the run, but headed wide from five meters, and the teams went into halftime goalless (0-0).

Guliashvili opened the second half with a great chance. The Georgian was alone at five meters in the 49th minute, but headed the ball far over the goal.

Just a minute later, the guests created their first chance of the match. Keranović shot fiercely from 25 meters, Banić saved with difficulty.

And then, in the 55th minute, Sarajevo finally broke the resistance of the visitors from Prijedor. Adem Ljajić skillfully found space in the penalty area, capitalized on Mlinarić's assist, and scored for 1-0.

Four minutes later, goalkeeper Dubljanjić stopped Beganović, and a great chance to immediately increase the lead was missed.

This was followed by minutes with very little football. Absolutely nothing happened at Košev during those moments, and the Maroon team calmly protected their lead.

In the end, the score remained 1-0. This is the second victory for the Maroon team this season, and we will see if this marks a return to winning ways.
