Gojko Cimirot returns to Koševo

(Patria) - Football Club Sarajevo announced this evening that Gojko Cimirot has returned to Koševo and signed a contract with the maroon club.

Cimirot returns to Sarajevo after ten years, having left for Greek PAOK in the summer of 2015.

The experienced midfielder was without a club after his contract with Saudi Al Fayah expired at the end of last season and decided to return to Sarajevo.

The maroon club confirmed that Cimirot is a new player for Sarajevo and has signed a two-year contract with the club, with an option to extend for another season.

In his first spell at Koševo, Cimirot arrived in the summer of 2013 from Leotar, and two years later he moved to PAOK for almost two million euros.

He spent three seasons at the Greek club before moving to Belgian Standard Liège for 2.5 million euros.

He played five seasons for Standard, and then tried his luck in Saudi Arabia where he played for the past two years.

Incidentally, the 32-year-old has also played 48 matches for the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In Sarajevo, before leaving for PAOK, he played 79 matches and managed to win the championship title and the BiH Cup trophy.
