France to host 2030 Winter Olympics

(Patria) - France will be the host of the 2030 Winter Olympic Games (WOI), the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced.

The Games will be held from February 1 to 17, and the host will be the French Alps, namely Haute Savoie, Savoie, Briançon, and Nice.

Guarantees for holding the Games were signed by the President of France Emmanuel Macron, and the future prime minister, who will be elected after the Summer Olympic Games, will also have to do so.

- I confirm my and the complete commitment of the French nation. I will ask the next prime minister not only to sign this guarantee but also to declare an Olympic law - said Macron.

IOC President Thomas Bach announced that the future French prime minister will have to sign a document guaranteeing the key points of the agreement by October 1.

National governments of the host countries of the Olympic Games must sign the financial and security commitments necessary for organizing the Games.
