(Patria) - Football Club (FK) Vitez will mark the 30th anniversary of the club's revival Assembly tomorrow.
With the signing of the Washington Agreement in 1994, the conflicts between the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Croatian Defence Council ended, which enabled the normalization of life, and consequently the start of the renewal of sports clubs in the municipality.
Plagues awarded to participants of the revival Assembly
Representatives of the Croatian political elites had no intention of forming joint clubs, but instead started this realization independently.
It was a clear sign that Bosniaks also had to take decisive steps when it came to forming sports clubs.
In Stari Vitez on April 16, 1994, the revival Assembly was held, at which the Statute of FK Vitez was adopted, in accordance with the Law on Associations of Citizens.
Document from the held Assembly
Registration in the Court Register was carried out on June 10, 1994, at the Higher Court in Zenica, under registration number 70/94 book II, as the Citizens' Association NK VITEZ from Vitez, with its seat in Vitez, in the premises of the city stadium in Vitez, and with the status of a legal entity.

FK Vitez repeatedly proposed merging the two clubs, but apart from initial steps and talks by sports activists, there were no other developments, because Croatian politicians were not inclined to form a single unified club N/FK Vitez.
Decision on changing the club's name
At an extraordinary session of the Assembly of NK Vitez, held on January 6, 2001, a decision was made to replace the name Nogometni klub Vitez with the name Fudbalski klub Vitez - Vitez, or abbreviated FK Vitez - Vitez.
The Croatian football club only removed the letter "H" from the abbreviated name of the club, and for a long time they kept the name "Croatian" in the full name, which many still use today, while for the general public, especially the people of Vitez, this has become common…
