FK Sarajevo: We are going into battle to save Bosnian-Herzegovinian football

(Patria) - Football Club Sarajevo issued a statement after last night's scandal and the interruption of the BiH Cup quarter-final match with Borac. Due to the decisions of the main referee Mateo Musa, the professional staff and players of Sarajevo left the field.

Today, FK Sarajevo released a statement to the public: "

"The events we witnessed last night are just the culmination of refereeing robberies that we have observed for years. Football is not being played in Bosnia and Herzegovina, another game is being played off the field.

As a consequence, we have a league table tailored to the wishes of individuals in the top tier of football competition.

Behind various commissions and "legal" processes is just a screen, used to punish those who are not acceptable dialogue partners and who are brave enough to oppose the well-founded suspicion of organized crime within the structures of the NS/FS BiH.

The degradation and humiliation of clubs and their fans is an obvious demonstration of force by those who think they are untouchable, but only because we all allow it.

Is it in the interest of this society to ever resolve this, or will suitable people come to power and exploit the Association so that things never get better, aware of the fact that they will never be prosecuted and punished?

Sarajevo is not and will not be part of that plan.

On this occasion, we inform the public that the President of FK Sarajevo, Ismir Mirvić, as a first step in the coming days, will invite all club representatives to an urgent meeting to exchange opinions, views, and ideas about the future of BiH football.

"Since 2021, with enthusiasm and a desire to bring new standards to BiH football, I have been investing in FK Sarajevo. If the goal is to drive away people like me, my message to everyone is this: 'I extend my hand to everyone in BiH football to help in any way, to any club, and not just in the Premier League of BiH. I am making myself and all my resources available to bring the truth to light and prosecute those responsible in accordance with the law.

Our A national team has problems caused by the same people, and that is an open secret. I call on our national team players who, through their work, have become independent of anyone and have given everything they can for BiH to raise their voices and simply tell the truth that will help a better future. To remain silent further means that we are all gravediggers of BiH football together'" - stated the President of FK Sarajevo, Ismir Mirvić.

All of this obliges us to, in the upcoming period, ask the aforementioned individuals by name and surname what they are doing, how they are doing it, and for whom they are doing it, and we will do so.

FK Sarajevo will use all legally permitted means and do everything to draw the attention of the BiH and European public, UEFA, FIFA, the BiH Prosecutor's Office, and all organizations that systematically fight against corruption to one of the biggest corruptions that has been happening in Bosnia and Herzegovina for years. We are prepared for short-term consequences and blows because we are aware of the path and the ultimate goal we want to achieve.

This is not Sarajevo's battle, but the battle of all honest people and clubs against corruption, injustice, and monopolism in sports in general. Only together can we restore pride and smiles to the faces of fans of all clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which should be our ultimate goal.
