2027 Champions League Final to be played at Atletico Madrid's stadium

(Patria) - This season, the European club champion will be decided in Budapest, while in 2027, Madrid will host the Champions League final.

Atletico Madrid's stadium - Metropolitano will have the honor of being the field where the winner of the 72nd edition of the strongest continental competition will be determined.

The European Football Union (UEFA) announced this news after a meeting of the Executive Committee, and also designated Salzburg as the venue for next year's Super Cup final.

The host of the 2027 Women's Champions League final will be Warsaw, whose national stadium has a capacity of almost 60,000 seats.

Metropolitano accommodates over 70,000 people, and this will be the second time the final is played at Atletico Madrid's stadium.

Liverpool has the best memory of the premiere edition, having lifted the "big-eared trophy" in 2019 after a 1-0 victory over Tottenham.
