FIFA realizes mistake: Tickets for Club World Cup are being discounted, even given away for free

(Patria) - The opening match of the Club World Cup between Inter Miami and Al Ahly did not meet expectations in terms of attendance.

Although the stands were solidly filled, several thousand empty seats clearly indicated a problem with ticket sales.

From $349 to $20 – discounts day by day

According to information, the initial price of the cheapest ticket six months ago was $349. However, as interest waned, FIFA was forced to lower prices:

first to $230,
then to $110,
then to $55,

and in the final stage, students could buy tickets for only $20.

In addition, a promotion was introduced: four free tickets per person, to avoid empty stands.

This situation shows that there has been a serious miscalculation of the market, especially for less attractive matches. On the other hand, matches involving Real Madrid are recording significantly higher interest – tickets for those matches reach up to $200, writes N1.

By the way, in the first match, Inter Miami and Al Ahly drew in a goalless game.

Bayern and Auckland City played a match at 6 PM, while PSG and Atletico Madrid will conclude the first competitive day at 9 PM.
