FIFA sent a 'congratulations': Football Association must pay over 100 thousand BAM in fines

(Patria) - The World Football Federation (FIFA) has once again fined the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, this time with a monetary penalty of 54,500 Swiss francs (approximately 115,000 BAM).

The fine relates to the qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup against San Marino (September 6 in Serravalle) and Austria (September 9 at Bilino Polje).

For the away match against San Marino, FIFA imposed a fine of 34,500 francs (approximately 72,000 BAM) on the Association due to inappropriate fan behavior – throwing objects, use of pyrotechnics, and displaying messages that, according to FIFA's rules, are considered unacceptable at sporting events.

Regarding the match against Austria in Zenica, the Association was fined for racist and discriminatory outbursts, as well as failures in security and pyrotechnic control. FIFA also recorded inappropriate gestures and messages in the stands.

Due to these violations, the FA of BiH must pay an additional 20,000 francs (approximately 42,000 BAM) and implement a prevention plan to prevent similar incidents in the future, according to FIFA's official website.

We remind you that last month FIFA already sanctioned the FA of BiH with 38,000 BAM for irregularities during the home match against San Marino.
