(Patria) - The basketball national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina has qualified for the knockout stage of EuroBasket!
The Liljanes today, in a crucial match of the last round of the group stage in Limassol, defeated Georgia with a score of 84:76 and thus achieved their third triumph (they also beat Cyprus and Greece), with two losses (Italy and Spain).

The team led by coach Adis Bećiragić has thus secured participation in the final stage of the tournament, which will be held in the capital of Latvia - Riga.
We started the match brilliantly, our three-point shooting was on point. We took a 12:6 lead, and we won the first quarter 20:15.
In the second quarter, we increased our lead. With less than five minutes to halftime, we led 35:25, and at halftime, we had a +12 lead (47:35).

At the beginning of the second half, we reached our largest lead in today's match (56:41). However, Georgia consolidated their ranks and by the end of the third quarter reduced the deficit to -5 (67:62).
We would say it wouldn't be the same without our basketball players giving us a little drama. Georgia tied the score (69:69) with 7 minutes and 52 seconds left, but they couldn't take the lead.
We managed to stabilize our game again and with three and a half minutes left in the match, with a 9:0 run, we went up by +9 (80:71).
In the end, we deservedly recorded a victory with a score of 84:76.

The most effective players for our team, as against Greece, were Jusuf Nurkić and John Roberson with 15 points each. Aleksandar Lazić scored 13, Edin Atić 11, and Adin Vrabac added 10.
For the Georgians, Alexander Mamukelashvili was the best player of the match with 20 points scored, while Kamar Baldwin scored 18.
The basketball Liljanes will play their next match on Sunday in Riga. Our opponent is still unknown.
