Europe in trouble: Euro in serious decline against the dollar

(Patria) - Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential elections has led to a dizzying drop in the value of the common European currency, with the euro now close to the value of one US dollar, which has not been recorded since November 2022.

Fear of tariffs that Trump announced for goods from the European Union has led to a consistent decline over the past nine days, i.e., since the US election day.

While the exchange rate was one euro to 1.09 dollars on November 5, the very next day that value was 1.07 dollars.

Although there was a slight increase in value on November 7, the decline has continued from that day until today, and the current value is 1.05 dollars for one euro.

If this trend continues, economic analysts fear that the euro's value will again fall below one dollar, which last happened in November 2022, when most eurozone countries had major problems with inflation.

However, the euro is not the only currency that has lost value after Trump's victory. The same "fate" befell, among others, the Canadian dollar, the South Korean won, the Japanese yen, and the Mexican peso.

It is also worth noting that a similar decline in value was recorded in 2016, when Trump first won the US presidential election.
