England barely makes it to the quarterfinals, Slovaks led until stoppage time then fell

(Patria) - The England national team qualified tonight for the quarterfinals of the European Football Championship being held in Germany.

The Slovaks were on the verge of a sensation in the round of 16, leading 1-0 until the 95th minute, having the quarterfinals in their hands.

However, everything quickly turned around. England eventually celebrated with a 2-1 victory after extra time, writes Faktor.ba.

The Slovaks took the lead in the 25th minute when Schranz beat Pickford.

England put on a pale performance in the first half, and Gareth Southgate's team looked slightly better in the second half.

In the 50th minute, the Slovak net shook, but the English celebration was interrupted by VAR after it was determined that the goal scorer Foden was in an offside position.

Rice hit the post in the 80th minute, and three minutes earlier, Kane sent the ball wide of the goal with a header from a promising position.

And just when it seemed that one of the main favorites for the Euros would be eliminated today, they equalized.
