England narrowly beat Serbia with Bellingham goal

(Patria) - England's national team tonight defeated Serbia by a minimal score in Gelsenkirchen in the first round of Group C of the European Championship being held in Germany.

The scorer of the only goal was 21-year-old Jude Bellingham in the 13th minute, assisted by Bukayo Saka.

England took the lead practically from the first chance they created against the team of Dragan Stojković Piksi. The Real Madrid forward was unstoppable for the opposing goalkeeper.

Serbia put on a somewhat better performance in the second half, but failed to seriously threaten the goal of England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

The best chance for our eastern neighbours came from Dušan Vlahović in the 81st minute, but Pickford was up to the task.

Earlier, the first match of Group C was played, which ended without a winner - Slovenia and Denmark drew 1:1.
