England, Denmark, and Slovenia into the Round of 16, Serbia and Croatia go home

(Patria) - The third and final round of Group C matches of the European Football Championship, being held in Germany, have been played.

Both matches ended in goalless draws.

England, Denmark, and Slovenia have qualified for the Round of 16, while Serbia, as the last-placed team, are going home.

England secured the top spot in the group with a 0-0 draw against Slovenia, and Denmark finished second.

Slovenia will play in the Round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams, while Serbia is going home.

England collected five points in three matches, Slovenia and Denmark each have three, and Serbia has two.

Interestingly, the second position in this group was decided by yellow cards, reports Faktor.ba.

Slovenia and Denmark had the same number of points, identical goal difference, and the same number of goals scored, so cards were the deciding factor. Denmark is ahead of Slovenia in that regard.

Slovenia has reached the knockout stage of a major tournament for the first time in their history.

With this outcome in Group C, the Croatian national team, which finished its competition at the Euros on Monday, also has no chance of advancing as one of the best third-placed teams.

England will face the third-placed team from Group D, E, or F in the knockout round, Denmark will play against Germany, and Slovenia awaits the results from other groups.
