Elvedina Muzaferija begins preparations: The Olympics will be the biggest challenge

(Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's best alpine skier Elvedina Muzaferija, after a short break, has begun preparations for the new competitive season in which, in addition to races in the FIS World Cup and Europa Cup, one of the biggest challenges for all top athletes awaits her, which is the appearance at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

She started the conditioning training process with ten-day preparations in Makarska, where she spent the last days of April together with coach Edhem Bajrić.

“We worked a lot in these first ten days, and as I feel it, it went very well. It was an introductory period and a standard physical fitness training after the competition season. I will continue with training in Sarajevo, and then the first more demanding conditioning preparations are planned from May 14 to 24 in Portugal,” says Muzaferija.

At the end of May, Muzaferija travels from lower altitudes to France for the first ski preparations at the Les Deux Alpes ski center.

“The plan is to then shift the focus to technique, giant slalom, and after almost two months, staying on snow is necessary for us to test the skis and equipment for the new season, which will be quite interesting and in which the Olympics are the biggest challenge,” concluded Muzaferija, the only BH alpine skier who will travel to the 2026 Winter Olympic Games with a fulfilled A standard.
