(Patria) - In the Swiss St. Moritz, the hours and minutes are counting down to the start of the new season of the Audi FIS Women's World Cup in speed disciplines.
The first downhill race is scheduled for tomorrow, December 12, starting at 10:15 AM, while the weekend brings another downhill race and the first Super-G of the season.
Among the fastest skiers in the world is the best Bosnian-Herzegovinian alpine skier, Elvedina Muzaferija, who completed two official downhill training sessions yesterday and today and is ready to face the starting position in St. Moritz.
“I am very much looking forward to the start of the competitive season. We used both official training sessions to get to know the course, the gates, the snow, and the changes in weather conditions well. There were many fluctuations that we are currently analyzing so that I can be one hundred percent ready for the competitions,” says Muzaferija, a member of the Ski Club “ZE-2010”, the only BiH competitor in the FIS World Cup and the only BiH skier with an A norm achieved for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, which will be held from February 6 to 22.
The competitive season for alpine skiers in the downhill and Super-G disciplines, with a packed competition schedule, lasts until the end of March 2026, when the final races will be held in Lillehammer from March 19 to 25, with the top 25 skiers in technical and speed disciplines qualifying.
Each race is an opportunity to earn new points and pave the way to the goal, and in St. Moritz, more than 70 competitors will seek their chance from December 12 to 14.
