(Patria) - In the Audi FIS World Cup Super-G race held today, December 21st, in St. Moritz, Switzerland, the best Bosnian and Herzegovinian alpine skier Elvedina Muzaferija also competed among the 57 fastest female competitors in the world. Starting from position 23, she started aggressively and bravely with a two-hundredths advantage in the first sector compared to the winner Cornelia Huetter.
However, she lost her desired placement after a mistake in the second sector of the run, which resulted in a two-second deficit, and it was difficult to make up for that in the lower part of the extremely demanding course. At the finish line, Elvedina Muzaferija stopped with a time of 1:18.12, the same as Jasmina Suter, which was enough for 37th place in the end.
The skier from Visoko will have a chance for a better performance tomorrow when the second Super-G in St. Moritz is scheduled, and in today's race, besides the winner Cornelia Huetter, who completed the course in 1:15.18, Lara Gut-Behrami and third-placed Sofia Goggia celebrated with 18 and 33 hundredths of a second behind, respectively.
The famous comeback competitor, American Lindsey Vonn, started the race in 31st place and finished in 14th place with a deficit of one second and 18 hundredths behind the dominant Huetter.
The course in St. Moritz was too demanding today for as many as eleven skiers who did not finish their race.
The second Super-G in St. Moritz for women will be held tomorrow starting at 11:00 AM and will be broadcast live on Eurosport 1 television.
