'Elf' reaches round of 16, Hungarians eliminated from Euro

(Patria) - The German national team is the first to secure a place in the round of 16 of the European Championship they are hosting.

The Germans defeated the Hungarians today in the second round of Group A at the "MHP Arena" in Stuttgart with a score of 2:0.

It was the second victory for the "Elf" from as many matches, and in the first, let us recall, the Scots suffered a heavy 5:1 defeat.

The hosts took the lead in the 22nd minute through Jamal Musiala, and Ilkay Gundogan put the final touch in the 67th.

With the defeat to the Germans, the Hungarians bid farewell to the further course of the Euro, given that they were also defeated in the first round (by the Swiss 1:3). They have one more match left to play against the Scots.

In the other match of the second round of Group A, Scotland and Switzerland play tonight at 9 PM.
