Elena Rybakina wins Australian Open

(Patria) - Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina won the Australian Open after defeating Belarus's Aryna Sabalenka in the final today with a score of 6:4, 4:6, 6:4.

Rybakina thus reached her second Grand Slam title (her first was at Wimbledon in 2022).

Rybakina made a break in the opening game of the match and held her serve well for the rest of the set.

Sabalenka managed to get break opportunities in the eighth game, but the Kazakh defended herself and finished the first part of the game with 6:4.

Sabalenka had three break points in the second game of the second set, but Rybakina neutralized them all.

However, with the score at 5:4 for the Belarusian, Elena served poorly and Aryna broke without losing a point to equalize the sets at 1:1.

Sabalenka also won the first three games of the third set, but then Rybakina managed to get back into her rhythm. She won five consecutive games and went from 0:3 to 5:3.

Sabalenka reduced the deficit to 4:5, but Rybakina served without major problems and finally reached the title with an ace, thus avenging Sabalenka for the defeat in the final of the same tournament three years ago.
