(Patria) - Edin Džeko has left Fenerbahçe after two seasons.
According to Turkish media, Džeko has already chosen his new club.
The experienced striker reportedly reached an agreement with Italian top-flight side Como 1907, and the transfer is expected to be officially confirmed soon. Džeko has already left Istanbul, and his arrival in Como is scheduled for Wednesday, Turkish outlet Sozcu reports.
According to media reports, Džeko also had an offer from Turkey, specifically from Başakşehir, but the 38-year-old decided to reject that option and return to Italy. That decision shows how much he believes in the Como project and how motivated he is for a new challenge.
In the Fenerbahçe jersey, Džeko played 99 official matches over two seasons, scoring 46 goals and recording 18 assists. Thanks to his leadership spirit, efficiency and professionalism, he earned a special place among the “yellow-blue” fans. However, after Fener failed to win the championship title, Džeko was among the first to leave the club.
Como finished the 2024/25 Serie A season in 10th place with 49 points – they recorded 13 wins, 10 draws and 15 losses, with a goal difference of 49:52 and an overall negative balance of -3. Despite inconsistent performances, the club managed to stay in the middle of the table.
Džeko's arrival could significantly boost Como's attacking potential. His experience and goalscoring instinct could be key in the club's ambitions to make a further step forward next season. This transfer is already generating great enthusiasm among fans and the club's management.
