(Patria) - The best Bosnian-Herzegovinian tennis player Damir Džumhur has advanced to the third round of the ATP Masters in Madrid after another great victory.
In the first round, Džumhur eliminated Mattia Bellucci with a score of 2:1 in sets after a comeback, and today he did the same against an old acquaintance, Sebastian Baez.
Džumhur had faced the Argentinian three times before today's match and had lost all three times, but he managed to break that negative streak today.
The first set lasted only 25 minutes. Baez made two breaks and won the first set routinely 6:1.
In the second set, Džumhur made two breaks and equalized in sets with the same score, while the third set offered many excitements.
Džumhur made two breaks at the start and took a 3:0 lead, Baez managed to reduce the deficit to 3:2, but that was all he could do. Džumhur made another break and celebrated with a score of 2:1 (1:6, 6:1, 6:2) to advance to the third round.
In this way, Džumhur has the opportunity to measure his strength against Novak Djokovic in the third round. Namely, Damir will play in the third round on Monday against the winner of today's duel between Djokovic and Matteo Arnaldi, in which the Serbian tennis player is a big favorite.
