
(Patria) - The best BiH tennis player Damir Džumhur won the Challenger tournament in Portugal today.
The player from Sarajevo defeated Francesco Passara from Italy (114th tennis player in the world) 2-0 in sets in the final, writes Faktor.ba.
Džumhur started the match brilliantly and took a 3-0 lead. The Italian came back to 2-3, but our tennis player stepped up, made another break, and won 6-3.
At the start of the second set, both players lost their serve, and Džumhur made a break in the tenth game to win 6-4.
With this triumph, the player from Sarajevo entered the Top 100 tennis players in the world. He advanced 23 positions and will be the 83rd tennis player in the world from tomorrow.
This ranking will allow him to directly qualify for the main draw of the first Grand Slam tournament of 2025 - the Australian Open.
