(Patria) - The best BH tennis player Damir Džumhur was eliminated in the first round of Wimbledon.
On the other side of the net today was the favored Czech Tomas Machac, who was convincing - 3:0 (6:3, 6:2, 6:4).
Although Džumhur has been playing quite good tennis in recent weeks, Machac proved to be too tough an opponent for the player from Sarajevo.
The Czech started the match excellently and broke Džumhur's serve in the second game, which he failed to return, although he could have.
After just 37 minutes of play, the set was over, with a score of 6:3 for the Czech.
The second set saw even greater dominance from Machac. Absolutely nothing went right for Džumhur, he made many errors, and his opponent took full advantage.
The second period of play finished even faster than the first - the 21st seed won it 6:2 in 26 minutes.
The third set began with another break by the Czech player, and it was already clear that Džumhur was on his way out of Wimbledon.
There was no surrender, of course, and Džumhur broke back in the eighth game, but the Czech immediately achieved another break and secured the set 6:4 with a confident serve, for a final score of 3:0.
In the second round, Machac will play against the Dane August Holmgren, who eliminated the Frenchman Quentina Halysa 3:0 today.
