(Patria) - VAR video technology (Video Assistant Referee), a system that helps the main referee resolve controversial situations during a match, will be present in stadiums in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the start of next season, Faktor reports.
This was confirmed to Faktor by the General Secretary of the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Adnan Džemidžić.
“As announced in the previous period, the F BiH will start the next competitive season with new VAR technology. The project is proceeding according to the roadmap of planned activities, and the implementation of VAR will be within the set timeframe,” said Džemidžić.
He adds that the F BiH, in accordance with the decision to launch and implement VAR technology, has taken steps towards finding the best technical solution for our infrastructural conditions.
“All technical elements were taken into account when selecting equipment for the realization of this very demanding task,” added Džemidžić.
It is not excluded that VAR will be tested in one of the matches in the current season.
“If the technical prerequisites for the installation of the necessary equipment are met in the coming period, there is a probability that the VAR system will be tested in one of the Premier League matches.
Through this procurement process, realistic conditions have been created for our referees and technical staff to receive the best training for managing the new technology, and for the F BiH to acquire modern equipment for the introduction of the VAR system in the top tier of competition,” concluded Džemidžić.
