Džeko completes first training session, expected to debut for Schalke tomorrow

(Patria) - The captain of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Džeko, completed his first training session with the Schalke 04 team today, and it is expected that he will play his first minutes for this German club on Sunday in the match against Kaiserslautern.

A large number of fans attended the training, and the interest is even greater due to Edin Džeko's arrival.

Džeko also gave his first interview to the club's website today. He emphasized that he made the decision to come to Schalke after talking with his family and that he felt he needed to go.

"It doesn't matter if I go to the first or second league, only that I am going to Schalke, and that's it, the most important thing for me. Personally, I believe that Schalke belongs in the Bundesliga. One has to accept it, but it is an excellent club. I am actually one of those who always stand firmly on the ground. The fact is that my career is already built, now I am just looking at what is happening and what I can do in the future," said Džeko.

He also mentioned his family and plans for the continuation of his life in the near future.

"I always talk with my family. When a situation arises where you have to change countries, you have to see with your family first. The children go to school, my wife is here, then I always ask my father and mother for their opinion. My sister too. My wife told me: 'I see you are different when you talk about Schalke, if you think this is the right decision for you, go there.' My family will come and visit me. For now, they are staying in Florence, mostly because of the children and school. I will visit them there when I have extra days off. All of this is so that I can fully concentrate on football in the coming period," Džeko conveyed.
