(Patria) - Turkish Fenerbahçe advanced to the third qualifying round of the Champions League, but with more difficulty than expected.
Led by Edin Džeko, the Turkish team won the first match against Swiss side Lugano 4:3, and tonight's return leg was expected to be a mere formality.
However, the Turkish team struggled (2:1), but advanced with an aggregate score of 6:4, reports Faktor.
The visitors took the lead in the seventh minute through Belhadj.
But in the 59th minute, Edin Džeko stepped onto the scene.
He used a cross from the side to head the ball past the Lugano goalkeeper and reset the situation, maintaining his team's overall lead.
