Džeko arrives in Italy, official signing for new club expected tomorrow

(Patria) - Experienced striker and captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, Edin Džeko, arrived in Italy this evening, where he will formally become a new member of Fiorentina in the coming days.

According to information reported by Italian media, including renowned journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Džeko was welcomed with great respect by club representatives upon his arrival. His arrival in Florence has sparked positive reactions among the "Viola" fans, who believe the experienced goalscorer will be a significant reinforcement in the fight for European ambitions.

Džeko is expected to undergo a medical examination on Thursday, followed by the signing of a contract that will tie him to the Serie A club until the summer of 2026, with an option to extend the collaboration for an additional season, until June 2027.

After his contract with Fenerbahçe expired, Džeko moves to Fiorentina as a free agent. In the Turkish giant's jersey during the past season, he made 53 appearances in all competitions, scoring 21 goals and providing eight assists, confirming that even at 39 years old, he maintains a high level of form and influence on the game.

Džeko made his debut for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team back in 2007, and to date, he has played 141 matches and scored 68 goals, making him the undisputed top scorer in the history of the national team.

If the transfer goes through as expected, Edin Džeko will once again play in one of Europe's strongest leagues in the Fiorentina jersey, where he previously wore the Roma jersey with great success. His experience, leadership, and goalscoring instinct will be a significant resource for the coach of the Florence club.
