(Patria) - Two-time Wimbledon winner (2011 and 2014) and former world number two, Czech Petra Kvitova, has announced her return to the WTA Tour seven months after the birth of her son.
Kvitova is expected to make her first comeback appearance at the end of this month at a tournament in Austin, USA.
"After a 15-month break from tennis and the birth of my little boy Petr, I am returning to the Tour.
I truly miss tennis, and especially competition," said the 34-year-old Kvitova via social media.
Kvitova married her coach Jiri Vanek in July 2023, and on July 7 last year, the couple welcomed their first child.
