(Patria) - The governing body of European football (UEFA) has suspended Turkey defender Merih Demiral for displaying a symbol of a terrorist organisation.
Demiral scored both goals in his team's 2-1 victory in the round of 16 match against Austria.
He celebrated the goals by making the "Grey Wolves" salute, which is a symbol of a right-wing extremist ideology.
Demiral will thus miss the quarter-final against the Netherlands, as well as the next match of his national team.
