
(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the proposal of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, unanimously adopted today the Decision on awarding the State Award for Sports of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2024 to Ismail Barlov.
The State Award for Sports, worth 10,000 KM, was awarded to 14-year-old Barlov, winner of a gold medal at this year's European Senior Para-Swimming Championships in Madeira and a silver medal in the 50-meter breaststroke event at the Paralympic Games in Paris on September 4, 2024.
In addition, Barlov is the winner of numerous medals at regional competitions and the youngest athlete from Bosnia and Herzegovina to have met the qualification standard for the Olympic or Paralympic Games.
He is a seventh-grade student at the Fifth Primary School, and he started swimming in 2018 at the swimming club for persons with disabilities "Spid".
The State Award for Sports is awarded annually to individuals deserving of the development of sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
