
(Patria) - The Employment Agency of BiH helped nearly 13,700 BiH citizens find employment abroad last year, according to their preliminary report on work for the past year, writes Capital.
Through the employment agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of Slovenia, 13,436 BiH citizens obtained work permits and started working in that country.
Also, through the agreement on mediating employment of workers from BiH in Germany in caregiving positions, 223 workers were employed last year.
While the domestic economy is crying out for workers, this state agency is very successfully working on their departure, with support from the state budget of 1.58 million KM, which is mostly spent on salaries.
"Budget funds of the Agency were spent purposefully, in accordance with the approved budget, procedures adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH, as well as other legal regulations and internal acts of the Agency," they state in their report.
According to official data, there were 321,912 unemployed persons in BiH at the end of November.
The unemployment rate in the third quarter of 2024 was 12.2 percent, which is 1.1 percentage points lower than in the second quarter of 2024.
