CIK Document Refutes Konaković: Vukoja is an HDZ Party Cadre After All

(Patria) - The Central Election Commission of BiH, at its session held on February 20, 2019, certified the candidate list of the HDZ BiH proposer for the election of delegates from the Federation of BiH from the ranks of the Croat people to the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH. Marin Vukoja, the current candidate for judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH, was also on that list.

The list certified by the CIK included the names: Dragan Čović, Borjana Krišto, Marin Vukoj, Renata Paškalj, and Danijel Nikolić. Čović was elected to the House of Peoples of the PA BiH at that time, and Vukoja remained in the position of secretary of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH.

His biography does not include any judicial experience, nor has he ever worked in judicial institutions.

The request from the president of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, is for Vukoja to be appointed as a judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH. However, some deputies from the 'trojka' parties are of the opinion that the entire list of successful candidates should be sent to the Parliament of FBiH for a decision, while HDZ and NIP are strongly opposed and want only Marin Vukoja's name to be sent for confirmation.

A constitutional judge's mandate ends at the age of 70, and Vukoja could therefore remain in the Constitutional Court of BiH for as long as 25 years, as he is 50 years old.

The president of NIP, Elmedin Konaković, who clearly knows best what he negotiated with the president of HDZ and what he promised him, stated on FTV's Rezime that Vukoja is not an activist or a member of a political party and that it is "a clear matter in his opinion".
