(Patria) - Novak Đoković defeated Tomáš Macháč 3-0, by set scores 6:1, 6:4, 6:4.
The Serbian tennis player routinely advanced to the round of 16 of the Australian Open.
From the very start, the intention was clear, and the execution was not lacking either.
The first set went quite convincingly to the side of the currently seventh-ranked tennis player in the world - 6:1.
In the second set, there were a few problems. The health-related ones were particularly "concerning," but it seems that was quickly resolved. Novak reportedly had breathing issues.
Macháč took a 2-0 lead at the start of the second set, Đoković immediately responded and then took the lead. While serving for the set at 5-4, Đoković saved a break point, and then with two excellent serves, he closed the set in his favor - 6:4.
The third set was fairly even. Novak made a break right at the start, which he maintained until the end – 6:4.
In the fourth round, Đoković faces another Czech, Jiří Lehečka, against whom he has played once, last year, when he won.
The former world number one, during the traditional signing on the camera, left the message "For Sonja," along with a heart, thus dedicating the victory to student Sonja Ponjavić, who was seriously injured yesterday after being hit by a car during student protests.
