Director of the Tuzla Pensioners' Home Mirsad Bakalović Resigns

(Patria) - Director of the Tuzla Pensioners' Home, Mirsad Bakalović (SDP), has submitted an irrevocable resignation, confirmed the Mayor of Tuzla, Zijad Lugavić.

Bakalović submitted his resignation to the mayor in the morning hours, before the Collegium session was held.

According to the latest official information, a total of 11 people died in the fire that engulfed part of the Pensioners' Home building in Tuzla last night, while 35 people sought medical assistance at the University Clinical Center in Tuzla.

Among those who sought medical assistance are also employees of the Home, police officers, and firefighters.

A session of the Tuzla City Council Collegium is currently underway, which is responsible for the management of the Pensioners' Home in Tuzla.

Before last night's tragedy, this home had around 190 residents.
