Turkey's foreign exchange reserves reach a record $176 billion

(Patria) - The foreign exchange reserves of the Turkish Central Bank have reached a new record level of $176.51 billion as of August 15.

The reserves increased by 1.2 percent or $2.14 billion, compared to $174.36 billion the previous week, the Central Bank announced.

Foreign exchange reserves in convertible foreign currencies increased by 4.1 percent to $83.2 billion compared to the previous week.

The Bank's gold reserves, including gold deposits and, where applicable, gold swaps, fell by 1.4 percent to $85.6 billion in the same period.

Total IMF reserve positions and special drawing rights increased by 0.2 percent to $7.7 billion as of August 15.
