Dembele stood before Mbappe and told him straight to his face: 'This is how things stand'

(Patria) - Kylian Mbappe has for years literally done whatever he wanted in the French national team. Teammates did not dare say anything, and even coach Didier Deschamps did not react much.

The Real star is considered by many to be an extremely arrogant and egotistical footballer. His attitude towards teammates often confirms this, but in the national team he found a man who would stand up to him.

Officially the best footballer in the world, PSG's Ousmane Dembele, decided to stand before Mbappe and tell him what his teammates expect from him.

"Ousmane Dembele has reached a completely new level in the French national team. He no longer hesitates to say things directly to Kylian Mbappe's face," French media report, adding:

"Recently, he asked him to put in more effort in defence for the good of the team. He told him he must participate much more in defending."

It is not known what reaction the Tricolores captain had. However, he definitely did not expect someone to tell him so directly what he needs to do.

Whether he will listen to his teammates, we will know in the upcoming matches. Mbappe is truly a phenomenal player, but arrogance has turned him into one of the most disliked footballers.

In recent months, he has faced heavy criticism from Real Madrid fans. Many see him as most responsible for all the troubles that have befallen Los Blancos in the past two seasons.

His name drew whistles and insults at the Bernabeu. His behaviour did not help either, so the situation was extremely tense, especially since trophies were not coming.

There are also more and more French people who cannot stand Mbappe. Dembele therefore decided to react on behalf of the players and say what he thinks about his game in the national team and what he should improve.

France is considered one of the favourites at the World Cup. However, the slap in the friendly match against Ivory Coast woke them up considerably, so Dembele also decided it was time to say some things.

The Tricolores are in a World Cup group with Senegal (June 16), Iraq (June 22) and Norway (June 26).
