(Patria) - The eternal Sarajevo derby, the 157th in a row, was entirely deservedly won by the hosts today.
Sarajevo defeated FK Željezničar after a furious first half in which the hosts scored three goals. The final score was 4:0, writes Faktor.
The Bordo team had much better support considering the popular Manijaci decided to boycott the derby. On the field, a much better performance from the hosts and a deserved victory in the end.
Sarajevo completely dismantled FK Željezničar in the first half. The hosts entered the match more aggressively, directly, and with more fight, which resulted in three goals.
The score changed as early as the 14th minute when, after a quickly taken corner, Elezi headed the ball into the net from Guliashvili's pass.
After conceding the goal, Jaganjac threatened Sarajevo's defense, but Banić cleared it for a corner. That was the only chance for the Blues in the first half.
In the 27th minute, Elezi had a header attempt that Muftić saved, and the Blues tried with crosses from Alić from corners, mostly without success.
The key moments happened at the end of the first half. First, Oliveira scored the second goal. It was in the 43rd minute.
The Brazilian shot, the ball deflected off Guliashvili and came back to the forward who scored into an empty net. The goal was reviewed by VAR, but the referees eventually allowed it.
The match was officiated by Irfan Peljto, who had work to do in added time as things got heated on the field and on the bench. It all ended with Ristovski receiving a yellow card, and Alihodžić being sent off from the bench for FK Željezničar.
When the match resumed, Ljajić took a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area and fired a projectile under the crossbar to make it 3:0 after the first half.
FK Željezničar's coach Admir Adžem made three substitutions at halftime – bringing in Lagumdžija, Boljević, and Odinaka with the aim of shaking up the team.
In the second half, Sarajevo played defensively, skillfully preserving the result, while the visitors did not pose a threat. Seedorf's goal was justifiably disallowed for Lagumdžija's offside.
In the 79th minute, Guliashvili had a good opportunity to score a fourth goal for the hosts, but Muftić and Karamarko managed to keep their net intact.
On the other side, the visitors played a nice move when the ball hit Lagumdžija on its way to the goal.
The final score was set in the 86th minute when, after a counter-attack, Guliashvili assisted Mlinarić, who scored precisely under the crossbar for 4:0.
With this victory, Sarajevo overtook FK Željezničar in the standings and moved up to third place. At the same time, the agony of the Blues continues, who have now gone six league matches without a win.
