(Patria) - According to the portal Sportsport.ba, the new coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina basketball team will be Dario Gjergja.
He is a Croatian expert who started his coaching career in Zagreb as an assistant.
After that, he was an assistant coach at Cibona, Ural, and Spirou Charleroi, and then in 2009, he got a chance as the head coach of the team in Belgian Liege.
After Liege, Gjergja also led Oostende, and is currently at the helm of Limoges.
This 50-year-old also has experience at the national team level, as he was an assistant coach for the Croatian national team, and from 2018, he led the Belgian national team, where he left a truly significant mark.
Reportedly, Gjergja has already received approval from Limoges to take over the helm of the BiH national team, and we have contacted our Association, but they did not wish to confirm this at this moment.
Our team first plays away against Turkey on November 27, and three days later, we will host Serbia in the "Mirza Delibašić" hall in Sarajevo.
