Cvijanović postpones BiH Presidency session: No Budget, Minister Amižić has not paid Viaduct over 110 million KM

(Patria) - BiH Presidency Chairwoman Željka Cvijanović informed BiH Presidency members Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić that the 124th extraordinary session of the BiH Presidency is postponed until further notice.

The draft budget of BiH institutions and international obligations of BiH for 2025 was to be discussed at this session.

In a letter to her colleagues, which Patria had access to, Cvijanović stated that the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, by letter dated April 3, requested the BiH Presidency to postpone the session.

"They cite the Conclusion of the Council of Ministers of BiH, by which the Ministry is tasked with certain activities that may have financial implications, as the reason, and they request a postponement until it is finally determined whether a revision of the Draft will be necessary," Cvijanović stated in the letter.

This refers to the Conclusion of the Council of Ministers of BiH dated March 27, by which the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH is tasked to, without delay, and no later than within 15 days, prepare a proposed solution for the payment of claims, i.e., to settle the debt to the company Viaduct d.o.o. Portorož in the amount of 110,169,862.95 KM. This debt amounted to 110,169,862.95 KM as of March 1, 2025, and the daily interest is 9,000 euros.

Non-payment of this debt has endangered air traffic in BiH, and the 15-day deadline is about to expire, and BiH will have to pay the debt.

Otherwise, the dispute arose between the Government of Republika Srpska and the Slovenian company Viaduct, but the state of BiH was sued.

As stated by Chairwoman Borjana Krišto after the session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, the state will pay the debt, but will collect every mark from the BiH entity of Republika Srpska.
