(Patria) - In the first round of the group stage of the World Cup, the German national team celebrated a 7:1 victory against Curacao in the match played in Houston.
The four-time world champion took control of the game from the start, but the debutant at the World Cup also managed to leave a mark in one part of the match.
Germany took the lead early in the match, when Felix Nmecha found the net in the 6th minute after a well-executed action and quick combination in attack. Although complete dominance by "Die Mannschaft" was expected, Curacao showed courage and in the 21st minute scored a historic goal, briefly restoring uncertainty to the result.
However, the German selection quickly responded and re-established control. After a corner kick in the 38th minute, Nico Schlotterbeck got on the scoresheet, while in the very end of the first half, Kai Havertz was a reliable penalty taker for 3:1.
In the second half, Germany continued in the same rhythm, using their quality and squad depth, while Curacao tried to score another goal through counterattacks and stay alive in the match.
