Cristiano Ronaldo (40) says he plans to end his career soon

(Patria) - Cristiano Ronaldo (40) plans to end his career soon, and admitted he will likely cry when it happens.

The Saudi Al Nassr player has scored 952 goals in his career, and his goal is to reach 1,000 before retiring.

"It will be difficult, I will probably cry because I am an emotional person. I have been preparing my future since I was 25, 26, 27 years old and I think I will be able to withstand that pressure," Ronaldo said on Piers Morgan's show.

He commented on Manchester United, stating that the team's coach Ruben Amorim cannot work miracles at Old Trafford and said he feels sadness for his former club.

"He is doing the best he can. What will he do? Miracles? Miracles are impossible. We in Portugal say that miracles are only in Fatima. Manchester United has good players, but some of them do not have Manchester United in their minds," said the 40-year-old Portuguese footballer.

Ronaldo spoke with Morgan three years after a shocking interview, after which he ended his second stint at Manchester United.

In 2022, he criticized the club's management, then-coach Erik ten Hag, and club officials, which led to his move to Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo said he still loves United, for whom he played 346 games and scored 145 goals, but suggested the club needs to find a functional structure.

"I am sad because it is one of the most important clubs in the world and a club that is still in my heart. You have to follow smart people to create a foundation for United's future.

Many years ago, Nicky Butt, Gary Neville, Roy Keane, David Beckham became great players, but they were young.

Manchester United currently lacks structure. I hope this will change because the club's potential is incredible. It is one of the most important clubs of the century," Ronaldo added.
