Four medals for BiH taekwondo athletes at the European ITF Championship

(Patria) - The first medals for Bosnian-Herzegovinian taekwondo athletes complemented the excellent organization of the European ITF Taekwondo Championship for juniors and seniors, which began yesterday in Sarajevo, and whose technical organizer is the ITF Taekwondo Federation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the first competition day of the 39th continental championship, which will feature more than 1,500 athletes from 32 countries, representatives of our country won two medals.



The first medal at this European Championship for our homeland was brought by Una Živanić. In the junior category up to 60 kg, she won the silver medal. After victories over competitors from Hungary and Ukraine, in the final bout she was defeated by a representative of Poland.

In the junior category up to 65 kg, Eldar Panjeta won a bronze medal. With victories over competitors from Italy and Ukraine, he reached the semifinals, where after a loss to a representative of Croatia, he had to settle for third place.

Following excellent performances against competitors from Bulgaria and Sweden, our Danina Durić was defeated in the semifinals by a representative of Slovakia, so she ultimately received a bronze medal in the category up to 65 kilograms.



With brilliant performances in the category up to 61 kilograms, junior representative of BiH Melina Ružnić advanced to the final, thus securing another medal for our national team.

At tomorrow's gala evening, her opponent in the fight for European gold will be a representative of Ukraine. Today, Melina recorded consecutive victories against representatives of Denmark, Bulgaria, and Ireland.

The best Bosnian-Herzegovinian seniors will also step onto the competition floor at the Arena Hills hall tomorrow. The competition starts at 9 AM, and entry is free for all visitors.
