
(Patria) - Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović sent congratulations on the occasion of the European Council's decision to open accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Congratulations to Bosnia and Herzegovina and we wish success in the negotiation process. This is an important day for the region and for the enlargement policy, and most importantly for the citizens of BiH. Montenegro strongly stands with all its neighbors on the path of our common future in the European Union," Spajić wrote on social network X.
Gratitude for the congratulations was expressed by the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH Borjana Krišto, who is expected to visit Montenegro next month, the cabinet of the Prime Minister of Montenegro announced.
Milatović congratulated BiH, saying that this is a big step on the European path of that country.
"The prosperity and stability of the Western Balkan region are anchored through accession to the EU," he wrote.
